Discourteous of her not to appear

I HAVE to agree with a previous writer's comments regarding the non appearance of Susan Boyle during/after or at any point throughout the show.

I had booked tickets as a treat for my 90-year-old mother and, being a fan of the 'star', she had been greatly looking forward to it.

As it was Ms Boyle failed, yet again, to put in an appearance at the Saturday afternoon matinee and, we were informed, would not be appearing for that evening's appearance either – the last night of the Bristol production. Is it so exhausting to come on and sing two songs, or even to simply acknowledge the appreciation of the audience? As I understand it, the management of Bristol Hippodrome was given no explanation.

Whatever the reason it was totally unprofessional and a great discourtesy to Ms Boyle's paying public. Interestingly the theatre was far from full – perhaps the word had got around? Having said this, Elaine C. Smith did a marvellous job.
