Michael Shank Racing has filed an entry to run Jay Howard in next month's Indy 500, although its participation will hinge upon the team securing an engine deal. The Ohio-based team, which won this year's Daytona 500, took delivery of a DW12 chassis earlier this year and has the funding for its Indy campaign in place, and team owner Shank said that he is confident of a strong performance provided that he can find an engine. "We have the sponsor package in place, and we believe Jay is the kind of driver who could really shine in the 500," Shank said
